This is another wild guess for the year, but he’s in uniform which is an unusual type of army style dress. He used to tell us about India and princesses but I have no idea what he was doing there, apart from chasing princesses!
According to Daddy’s CV (yes, I have a copy) he joined the Royal Navy as Midshipman in 1944 and left as a Temporary Acting Lieutenant in 1947, so I’m not exactly sure when this photo as taken.
I’m not sure which Mr Thomas this bill from Herbert Farmer, Cardiff is for because it shows the address as Coburn Rd, Cardiff.

Carmen very kindly sent me this picture of Thomas John Thomas (Dada to most of us) so it may well be 1914 – 1918. I have no idea of his role during the war, so if anyone has anything to add, please let me know.
