Disdaine Of Lynher – Mutiny In Benodet 1980
After more than 36 hours of seasickness, I refused to get back on board this vessel after we had arrived at Benodet, France. The name of the boat was apt as I had nothing but disdain for it since it rolled like a pig in a trough. Hideous.
Cross Channel Sailing – 1979
One of many cross channel trips I did with Daddy in a variety of yachts. This one is Meon Maid III, a navy yacht and we’d probably been to Cherbourg or the Channel Islands.
An Illustrious Career
Daddy had an impressive career and these notes on his various appointments are testament to this.
Marc And John – Mechanics 1978
I’m pretty sure this was a Triumph Herald we were trying to fix. Probably in Sandford Avenue, Alverstoke, Gosport.
Daddy’s Last Job In The Navy – NSPO WM – 1977
Daddy’s last job in the Navy was Naval Ship Production Overseer for the West Midlands, based in Birmingham.
Our Teacher Friends In Tigre – November 1976
We made friends with several English teachers and Mary, a girl from New Zealand. Here we are having lunch somewhere in Tigre.
Buenos Aires To Southampton Aboard M/V Brasilia Star – November 1976
Here’s an excerpt from my diary about the voyage: Wednesday 17 November Arrived at the ship at 2.15 with Michelle, Daddy and Pippa. Had coffee with Adriana – thank God! We all said goodbye. No one left. All by ourselves in an old tin can.
